What do you love about being over 40?

Now that I am 52, I can appreciate the hard work I put into my education and dedication to my career and family. We have raised 2 amazing children, my son is 23 and my daughter is 20. They are my greatest accomplishments. We can have adult conversations and hang out. I am able to enjoy adulthood with my incredible husband of 26 years (34 together) traveling and spending time together. I love teaching and being able to share my wisdom of 52 years with the future leaders of tomorrow.

How do you stay fabulous?

I read whenever I can for pleasure and professionally. I stay educated on issues affecting education. Because I am a cancer survivor, I encourage others to be informed and get checked for early diagnosis. I love to listen to music, go to theatrical performances and attend movies. I decompress at the beach and try to appreciate the beautiful world that surrounds me. I try to spread kindness and smiles wherever I go. I see life as a beautiful gift. I want to try to enjoy every minute I am here.

What would you do with the $40,000?

That is a great deal of money. I would absolutely give the majority of the money to my children for their futures. I would give some to support Cancer Research since that has been an important part of my life. I would also love to use some of the money to travel to Italy to visit my husband's family that live there. He misses them so much and I would love to gift him this trip. I would hopefully have some leftover to put towards my classroom and purchasing some materials to support education.
