As I’ve aged, I’ve grown into myself. The sign of true beauty is knowing your strengths and your areas of growth. I am the first in my family to go to college and now I hold a doctorate in education. I serve as the Assistant Superintendent in a school district with over 4,000 students. I’ve made it my mission to build up the women leaders and school principals in our organization, creating opportunities for leadership in a male dominated leadership field.
How do you stay fabulous?Having found my purpose and true calling, I exude joy! Even when things are hard, I can find the best in people. I take pride in looking my best, and make sure that my clothes add to my joy. One of my secrets for staying fabulous is my traveling costume box and portable Karoke set up. My friends and family count on me to bring the whimsy to gatherings. Glamorous sequins or rock & roll? Everything is more fun with a costume box!
What would you do with the $40,000?My dream is to start a company that helps women (or men) of all ages land their dream job! Part life coach, part image consultant, part “head hunter”. In my role I sit on the other side of the hiring table quite often. Having struggled to conquer the unknowns of college and career, I would have loved to meet someone like me who could have helped me prepare for interviews and walk with confidence. Being able to offer my services to women without resources or connections is a dream!
