Connect What do you love about being over 40?

I love finally feeling confident in myself. It is incredibly liberating. I am in a phase where I have begun to prioritize my values and passions over societal expectations. I can reflect on lessons learned and pass on some wisdom to women younger than me. This self-awareness allows me to focus on what brings me joy, whether it’s pursuing hobbies, building meaningful relationships, or simply enjoying my own company.

How do you stay fabulous?

I stay fabulous by embracing change. I am old enough to understand that my body will not look the way it did in my 20's. Now, I prioritize sleep, exercising, being in nature, cooking good food, and surrounding myself with authentic people who genuinely care about my well-being and celebrate my successes. I am more grateful for all the experiences that have made me the person that I am today. I am fabulous because I am surrounded by love and give love in return to the people who matter most.

What would you do with the $40,000?

I would go from working 40 hours a week to 30 hours a week. This would give me more time to finish my PhD and be a more present mom to my three kids who are all busy with band and sports. I have been inching my way along, taking 1-2 classes per semester and working towards my doctorate. If I could scale back even just 10 hours a week at work, this would be monumental in more time to work on my dissertation and do research.
