I’m learning to care less about what other people think and listen to my authentic inner voice. Boundaries create freedom. I’m starting my own private practice and am almost finished rehabbing my first home to resell. Working for myself will enable me to make more money in less time so I can spend as much quality time with my kids and doing other fun things I enjoy.
How do you stay fabulous?Quiet introspective time to myself & time with close friends is imperative. This helps me to get perspective & understand myself better so I can be more deliberate in my actions and decisions. Time in nature is huge for me. I get stir crazy if I don’t get outside at some point in the day. Scouring thrift stores for vintage clothes and furniture is a blast and keeps my style unique & affordable. I live beneath my means so I can spend less time working & more time living.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would put it toward renovating the old church on my property that was turned into a tobacco pack house at some point. Once renovated, the church will be one big(ish) open space that I can use to see patients in my private practice, hold community & vagus nerve yoga (for PTSD) and to host Process Painting classes, which have been an integral part of building my self knowledge, self trust & the fortitude to leave an emotionally and psychologically abusive marriage 3.5 years ago.
