I love that I have a self awareness and comfort in my own skin that gives me confidence and inner strength. I love connecting with other women and bonding over shared experiences at this place on our life. It has been a long journey, but I have enjoyed this time of becoming my own best friend, there is so much beauty to be found in this space.
How do you stay fabulous?It is a life-long journey, since there are always going to be days that we feel defeated, exhausted or just unsure of ourselves. After COVID and being there for my mom and step-dad when he went through hospice during that time, the urgency and importance of self-care took on a whole new meaning in my life. I discovered the healing powers of music, epsom salt baths, consistent face and body care and—most importantly—patience and grace with myself. We are our worst critic, “lean in” to yourself!
What would you do with the $40,000?I started my “fabulous” journey four years ago when I made the decision to take my health concerns to a new level and committed to getting healthy. I lost over 100 pounds but that hasn’t even been the most significant change in my life. I have clarity, strength and confidence in ways that have been empowering, especially given how difficult life over 40 can be! If I win, I would invest in this body that has withstood triumphs, but also health struggles and severe weight gain.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
