Coming to America at the age of 7, I never thought I would have such amazing opportunities. I have worked hard to put myself through school, and since I turned 40, I feel settled and comfortable in my skin. Being a single mom comes with certain challenges, but I’m taking advantage of everything I am still fortunate to do!. I lift weights, exercise and recently got my 2nd-degree black belt in Escrima , a type of martial art. I love being an example of a strong, independent woman for my kids.
How do you stay fabulous?Although exercise keeps me feeling young, I also focus on balance and recovery. Self-care routines, meditation and therapy, are so helpful. My kids are my 2 besties. When they aren’t with me, I have a small group of trusted friends who have seen me through thick and thin. I do think that my second stage of life is still unfolding. I put myself out into the world and explore all the events and activities Pittsburgh has to offer. I also love being a part of women’s and networking groups.
What would you do with the $40,000?My parents retired and moved to Florida a couple years ago. Unfortunately, the recent hurricane has destroyed their home. If I was fortunate enough to win this, I would help them rebuild their house and replace their belongings. Also, because I was an immigrant and my family had very little for a long time, I would like to support our local Pittsburgh shelters and charities. My kids are both in scouts and I would love to donate to their troops to help support their outreach activities.
