My life changed for the better at 40. After going on a health and fitness journey at 40 and losing 108 pounds, I changed careers from writing to fitness coaching. I did this to feel better and help others to reach their health goals—I am now in the best shape of my life. I feel my most confident, with the life experience to be able to handle career, family, and social situations better than ever before.
How do you stay fabulous?I eat a Whole Foods diet, avoid added sugars, and I do cardio and weight training regularly. I also take on new challenges and try to live a goal-centered and adventurous life. For instance, in my 40s, I competed for Miss NC USA during the first competition year they allowed people over the age of 28 to compete. I was also the first person over 40 to ever compete using the title of Miss Wake County USA.
What would you do with the $40,000?I have been starting a health and fitness business, and I would use the money to help me continue reaching that goal.
