Learning to love myself and others more deeply and with less baggage. Letting go of busyness and constant striving, learning to be mindful and confronting my issues takes a certain kind of wisdom and humility that comes only with age. Feeling content in my own space opens my heart to self-love and love for others. Sometimes I feel like the "Ugly Duckling" who finally sees his true inner beauty when he take a chance and joins a bevy of swans flying overhead on a crisp fall day.
How do you stay fabulous?Staying fabulous is not necessarily about glamor or even style for me, though both are fun! It is remaining true to my authentic self and finding my inner warrior. I lost my surfer artist husband to FTD, and, by grace alone, was handed a second chance. I married a wonderful man and treasure the present moment. Life truly is short. Now I use my warrior resilience and empathy in my own entrepreneurial venture to help entrepreneurs elevate their vibe and take their business to the next level.
What would you do with the $40,000?I have a heart for many causes. Two that stand our are A21 and AFTD. The vision of A21 is to end slavery everywhere, especially with respect to sex trafficking. Slavery of any sort weighs heavy on my heart and I know the president of A21. My donation will be used judiciously to help young women. AFTD (the Association for Fronto-Temporal Dementia) supports research to cure this dreadful disease which took my husband at a young age. FTD can destroy families psychologically and financially.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
