I love being over 40 because I feel so much more powerful. So much of my youth was spent feeling insecure, and ashamed of my illness. I felt flawed and unworthy. And even though no one knew, I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere. Now I feel empowered by what I’ve survived. I pulled through one of the WORST experiences, I feel unstoppable. Also, no more hiding, I feel obligated to be open and transparent because I know that my victory is someone else’s inspiration.
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous through lots of prayers, and positive affirmations. It’s how I got through 7 years of dialysis, why stop now! I also exercise and spend lots of time with my 2 pups and 3 nieces…they all keep me young! I’m an actress now, but when I need to connect with my soul, I return to my first love, and I DANCE in my house like nobody’s watching!
What would you do with the $40,000?We all know how awful our healthcare system is, and although I have EXCELLENT med insurance, I still came out owing almost $200K in medical costs. I would use some to pay down my medical debt, and give half to my FABULOUS mom (also in the contest) who at 70 years young, gave me her kidney!
