The freedom to go against the flow, to find a new path, and the comfort of knowing myself. These are such exciting times for change, especially for women and young people. I'm proud to have paved the way to let new energy come in and make something we never DREAMED about! The younger generations say they can tell we are over 40 because we throw our arms up in the air to dance. Well ladies, the Fab Over 40s threw our hands in the air because our mothers couldn't even DANCE in public.
How do you stay fabulous?I try to stay connected to young people and as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have a unique opportunity to do that. I am able to learn from the youngers and dole out whatever advice, er uh "life hacks" that I can. When we both learn, we both win and strengthen the friendship. Making new friends and being out and about seeing the people living and loving and dancing keeps me feeling young and alive!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would take my Mom on a trip to reflect on our accomplishments. Mom worked so hard at two careers: first she raised four kids for 22 years, then in 1997 she went to work full time to make enough money to one day retire on her own. I moved to Jacksonville 6 years ago and started off making $14/hour but now have a very successful career and respectable salary and I only made it because of my mother. Her actions, her support, her believing in me, her pep talks all helped me level up to here.
