While others say they wish they were younger, I love aging gracefully. I love seeing my mom and dad in my reflection. My dad passed away 5.5 years ago, so it’s a blessing on the days I catch his resemblance. I don’t have the stress I did at 20, and I’ve been with my spouse almost 28 years. I say that to say I know my self worth, and that I’m beautiful to myself and him. I think when you love yourself first, and know you are loved that it gives you self worth and power. At 45 I’m truly blessed.

After loosing 100 pounds, I’m proud of myself for keeping it off for 5 years. I love traveling, the beach is my happy place. I treat myself to monthly massages to reduce the stress in my mind and body. This is important because your body is your temple. Only you can nurture it. Some days I do my hair and makeup and sometimes I don’t. I get Botox to my frown lines occasionally. I love adding color to my hair for for fun. I believe beauty comes from within, and that makes you fabulous always.

I help raise two beautiful girls, my neices that call me Mommy. While $40,000 isn’t much, after Hurricane Helene, I would install a generator where my loved ones could get hot meals, take hot showers and sleep comfortably. I would pay my car off, making thing's easier as I get ready to start the nursing school program. And If I had any left I would do some much needed home improvements. The girls are always my modivation. Two jobs isn’t ideal, but it will help me provide a better life for them.
