Deborah Robertson

I feel the freedom to be myself, and not be so concerned with what others may think of me. I try to be the best I can be, and help others do the same. I have been a teacher going on 21 years. I like being one more person in the lives of the children they can remember who genuinely cared for them. I have made mistakes, but I have learned from them. When I retire, I want to volunteer with animal rescue. Animals are another passion of mine. Advice I would give - always be kind and never give up.

I try to take care of myself, eat healthy foods (along with some not so healthy -haha), workout, and manage stress. I don’t succeed every day, but each day is a new beginning to start over. The key is to not give up, don’t get discouraged, and keep going. I think many women are focusing on caring for others and putting ourselves last. We have to remember if we don’t take care of ourselves, we will not be able to take care of others. And starting each day with gratitude is fabulous.

I would pay off debts so I will be in a better position for retirement and for helping others. I already try to help people and animals in need, but I’m limited in what I can do. It would be freeing to be in a better financial position. I hope to do volunteer work after I retire in the next five years or so. I want to keep helping and making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it. I would also like to have enough money to explore more of our beautiful world.
