I had issues with drugs and alcohol for a very long time and wasn't always so sure I would make it to 40. I'm nearing 50 now and I'm just so grateful to be here clean and sober. I'm living the best days of my life now and thank God I don't look like what I've been through. I'll be 49 this month and I'm so blessed that my children get to know the new me. I feel healthy and happy for the first time in a long time and I intend to take full advantage of that. Being over 40 feels like a miracle to me
How do you stay fabulous?I've been a licensed cosmetologist for 24 years but I have mostly worked in barbershops. I'm currently working in a salon and it feels wonderful to give back to other women and make them feel beautiful. It's so encouraging and empowering for the women who sit in my chair and allow me to pamper them.
What would you do with the $40,000?I'm also a caregiver to my disabled Aunt and we reside in her home which is very old. With her being on a fixed income, it's not easy to make much needed repairs and upgrades to the home. I would start there so she is able to remain in her home. With what's left, I would rent my own space and open a salon. I lost my mother in 2022 and the one thing she always told me was that my hands were blessed and I should have my own salon. $40,000 could make that a real possibility for me.
