I am 48 years fabulous. I am an author and poet. I am a cancer survivor. I am the 1st child of my fathers grad HS and College.
We would like to thank you for supporting Darla Lehnert in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
I love the knowledge that I've gained: which in turn has caused forgiveness and gratitude and self love. I can walk with my head held high and shoulders back, with confidence, not letting the ego or self doubt or anything, anyone else says, to stop me from being the best version of me. At 40 plus, knowing when people are crazy makers and you are allowed to put up healthy boundaries. Mya Angelou said, "You are are enough. You have nothing to prove to anyone."
How do you stay fabulous?BY keeping a close relationship with my God. Showing gratitude daily, by being open to learning from everyone I meet and by sharing my talents and spreading joy. The fruitages of the spirit are what's fabulous, they merely shine through me.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would definitely use it wisely. Id 1st pay an illustrator so my book can be published. It's a book to help children at an early age begin self love. With bullying and cyber bullying being a global issue and childhood suicide rates soaring there needs to be literaure, actial fun reading that addresses self worth. I have written one. It is titled, A Case of the Zackleees. Then, I'd pay off my car and other debt so I can buy a house.
