When I turned 50, I asked women decades older than me for aging advice. Some of the best advice, never use the word "old" in a derogatory sense about yourself. Another feisty woman who was a psychiatrist and a former professional dancer from NYC said there are 3 important things about aging. 1. Keep your figure 2. Take care of your skin 3. And F*** a lot. I sensed she did all 3. With good health and some luck, it's adult childhood. All the work and goals we endured & now we have arrived.
How do you stay fabulous?Fitness of the mind, spirit, soul and body. Hobbies, friends, passion. I love to bicycle. We have a thing on our bike club that each year you must ride your bike age in MILES. This year I biked 65+. I'm lucky to live in San Diego where being active outdoors is a year-round thing. And I love to be active. However, if you told me to go to the gym, I would say, "No way, that is exercise." But if you offered me a chance to bicycle through the Canadian Rockies, I would say, "Sign me up."
What would you do with the $40,000?I would use part of this money to help my youngest niece with her college tuition. I would give a portion to the American Cancer Society. I lost my soulmate to cancer when he was 49. This is why I appreciate & will never complain about age. In addition, I worked in Oncology & saw people who will never grow older. It is time for society & women to appreciate this. And I would go on a much needed trip. Probably a hiking trip in Peru or Europe. I have not vacationed since before COVID.
