Being over 40 feels like I am coming into my own. I stepping out of my comfort zone and trying things I never would have before.

I love the freedom being over 40 gives me. The self consciousness of my “youth” is gone and the self realization and personal growth have blossomed. I’m not perfect but am perfectly me. My experiences, both joyful and sorrowful have shaped me into who I am today. Knowing how fast time has gone gives me inspiration to live life to the fullest and not worry about the status quo. I love the wisdom, confidence and fearlessness that comes with being over 40.
How do you stay fabulous?Learning to love myself is the best thing I have done to stay fabulous! This does not mean accepting things as they are, rather being capable of recognizing the things in myself that need work and caring enough about myself to make the changes needed to grow and stay healthy. I exercise a minimum of 6 days a week to maintain a healthy mind and body. I have become more diligent about what I put into my body. I also do not let stress build up, letting it roll off my back like water.
What would you do with the $40,000?$40,000 would be amazing! I have recently re-enrolled back into college to further my teaching career and the money would definitely help with some living expenses. I would use some of the money for some personal care with my esthetician and massage therapist. Though over 40, I still have young kids at home and would take them on our dream vacation to Disney World. Finally, I have been on a weight loss and overall health journey and would use some of the money to replace my wardrobe.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
