I’m comfortable now. I actually like myself just the way I am. I’ve learned to appreciate myself after all these years of trying to be who society expects me to be. Embracing that I’ve made it to this point (wasn’t always pretty)and looking forward to next chapter. Being a retired nurse practitioner has given me the opportunity to see people in so many different aspects. We all ultimately want to be happy and healthy. My job allowed me to be part of the process.
How do you stay fabulous?I listen to my self. So easy to get caught up in what we think we should be, but I’ve realized it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks or does. Be true to yourself and you’ll never be disappointed.
What would you do with the $40,000?Not sure. I would have to think long and hard about this. My Mom had breast cancer as well as one Grandmother and one great grandmother so this is a significant part of my family’s history. Expanding education and access on the importance of screening in my community would be a priority . I have 2 autistic grandsons so helping to increase awareness and inclusion of this community is also a priority to me
