I’m about to be 54 and have been a high school teacher in Texas for 25 years. I’ve survived cancer 3 times plus a triple bypass. Day by day.

How do you stay fabulous?Self care, relaxation, stretches and enjoying each day! Due to my heart condition and artificial valves, I am Limited in what I can do physically so I consciously try to get moving each day and enjoy what is right in front of me. I love music of all kinds and I believe that my high school students and staying engaged with them, has kept me young.. I enjoy listening to their music and learning what the newest phrase is. I love that my students come to me for advice or to talk about their world.
What would you do with the $40,000?I could pay off some medical bills and take my daughters to Europe. I’m about to retire after a 25 year teaching career and this would have me in a good spot financially by reducing monthly bills to a minimum. My girls’ dad died in January and this has left it all up to me. I know they are grieving and miss him immensely. I would just like to do something really nice for them (that I usually can’t afford) and have a nice bonding trip to share memories forever!
