I work hard running a daycare, and raising a teenager, but when my community needs volunteers I’ve freed up time to help on many occasions.
We would like to thank you for supporting Christy in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
When in my 20s and early 30s I was so concerned about fitting in that I was a muted version of myself. Late 30s and now 40s has been a time for me to come out of my shell, to not worry about getting embarrassed for saying or doing something “silly”. I’ve come to notice that my off the wall type of humour has brought the same out in others and has made for so many laughs over the years.
How do you stay fabulous?I’ve worked with children for years as a daycare provider, it’s not a high paying career but I know the parents and children need me. Many of the kids don’t do well in bigger daycares for various reasons and I’m happy to be here for them and love seeing them grow up. They keep me energetic and a smile on my face.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would have to put more time into thinking about where that money would best benefit my son and I, but I’m sure he would have a lot of suggestions lol
