Carey Abbott

After mentally breaking due to loss of my father, mother, brother, and husband, I had to do a lot of soul searching to "find" myself again.

What do you love about being over 40?

At 47 years of age, I am definitely much more in tune with my body and mind. I have been grieving the loss of my dad (8/1995), mom (10/2004), brother (3/2005)that I found and responsive and perform CPR until the paramedics pulled me off of him, and the father of my two children that I was with for 20 years that died by suicide in December 29th 2016. I had to relearn to love myself.

How do you stay fabulous?

Just being me. I am a spokesperson for suicide prevention awareness and raising awareness to break the stigma of mental health. I am very vocal and help other people to heal themselves and love the person that they are.

What would you do with the $40,000?

I have a 20 yr old son and a 13 yr old son. I had to help them get through the grieving process of losing their father. My kids for the reason why I'm still here. We have never had a real family vacation, and they so deserve and need to go on a vacation. I want to show them and I want them to know that they are the most important thing in my life and without them I wouldn't be me.
