As a dance studio owner and director, I have been teaching confidence to young ladies for 18 years and now it’s time for me to embrace it.

Being over 40 has made me realize that you only live once, so you might as well start being your true self. You don’t have to impress or do anything you don’t want to do. If you want to get up and dance with your friends in the middle of nowhere…do it! In your 40’s you become a judge free zone. It lifts so much weight off your shoulders to just enjoy your life the way you want to live it. I was raised by a fabulous mother who always encouraged me to be fabulous. In my 40’s…I finally believe it.
How do you stay fabulous?Dancing and choreographing is my favorite thing to do. In the morning, I go to the gym and do the studio operational work. After school hours and weekends I’m at my studio teaching. Choreographing makes me feel like I am putting something new into the world. Making people feel something through dance makes me feel fabulous. By the time I lay down at night, I am sore but every minute is worth it…especially when you see the final product on stage. I love my job and the kids keep me fabulous.
What would you do with the $40,000?$40,000 would really help. I have two beautiful teenage girls that in a blink of an eye will be in college. I would love to take them on a nice vacation. The rest would be used to help support some of my students in financial need. I would do some updates to our facility and be able to offer some more dance scholarships in our community.
