This quote by Carl Jung really sums it up: ‘Life really does begin at forty. Up until then, you are just doing research.’ In my 20s, I ran from who I was; in my 30s, I explored who I could be. Now in my 40s, I embrace who I am—comfortable, wise(er), yet open to growth. I love feeling that this is just the beginning. Through my kids, I get to rediscover life from their fresh perspective. While life doesn’t offer do-overs, I’m able to use my past to shape the future with a deep sense of gratitude.
How do you stay fabulous?Staying fabulous, for me, is about both inner strength and outer care. I have non-negotiables like working out and carving time for myself to stay physically & mentally strong. I’m lucky to have a supportive partner and amazing dad by my side. My 3 wild kids push me to grow and love in ways I never thought possible. When my middle child was diagnosed with a rare disease, we knew we had to find a cure—not just for him, but for others. This keeps me grounded and gives my life deeper meaning.
What would you do with the $40,000?Our foundation, LukaShaiFoundation.org, is dedicated to finding a cure for my son’s ultra rare disease and others like him. This $40,000 donation would go toward funding critical research and accelerating breakthroughs in treatment. It would bring us closer to a cure, offering hope to children and families affected by rare diseases and making a lasting impact on their lives.
