As a woman over 40, I appreciate the maturity to appreciate every moment, balance my well-being, and pursue my aspirations regardless of age. Being a single mother and graduate student in my 40s presents challenges, yet I recognize that personal growth often requires perseverance. I take pride in serving as a role model and advocate for individuals with hearing and visual impairments, promoting self-acceptance and dispelling stigma as a hearing aid wearer.
How do you stay fabulous?By prioritizing physical well-being, family connection, volunteerism, and personal growth, I embody fabulousness. I recognize each life chapter as an opportunity for growth, whether calm or chaotic, and stay focused on my journey, uplifting others along the way. Embracing my newfound connection to the hearing world has unlocked a fresh perspective, fueling my solo adventures and nurturing relationships that enrich my life.
What would you do with the $40,000?I'd wipe out credit card debt I incurred while going through a year of medical hardship, take the kids on a mini adventure , and launch a non-profit art center, after graduating from grad school. Last year I had a vision loss due to surgery which caused a year of ongoing surgeries, halting my life as I could not see, causing me to go into severe financial debt. I always say things could be worse and that’s how I get through my struggles, help is hard to ask for and sometimes not available.
