I’m fabulous- despite having chronic disabilities, I became a small business owner at 40 when I started a psychology practice.
We would like to thank you for supporting Amanda Trent in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
I love the fact that I’m comfortable in my own skin and owning my feminine power and beauty. I love that I can admire other women and not feel threatened. I love knowing that I experienced the best of the pre-digital age and that all the “retro” trends are my childhood and middle school years, so it’s like getting a redo at that awkward phase and finding out I was cool the whole time!
How do you stay fabulous?Hard work! It’s a lot of effort to live an intentional life, whatever your calling. I want to be learning and curious until my last day. I try and keep my mind active with books, podcasts, and articles. I have to practice what I preach to my clients- regular mindfulness practice, prioritize my health, assert healthy boundaries, and invest in relationships that matter to me. All these practices support me during the times I have a flare of symptoms that keep me from being as involved.
What would you do with the $40,000?Pay some bills!!! I would invest in a few professional trainings that would allow me to take my psychology practice to the next level. Particularly, I’ve been wanting to attend a 2 week experience and facilitator training at the labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral in France. I have found labyrinths to be an important way to practice grounding and mindfulness during these last several years. If you’re not familiar, look it up!!!
