Amanda Shore

My body carried 3 beautiful children all while owning a business, building a happy home, and learning to navigate a late 40s ADHD diagnosis.

What do you love about being over 40?

The wisdom - I’m able to look back and make sense of so many circumstances that confused or bewildered me at the time. My faith is stronger than ever and I know that moving forward I’m equipped with the strength to handle “life” - even when it’s overwhelming. My ADHD means “overwhelm” happens a lot!

How do you stay fabulous?

Keeping up with my 15, 14, and 8 year olds at the age of 49 is a workout in itself! I do my best to stay in God’s word - that’s the source of my strength as a mama, wife, and business owner. My energy and mindset suffer when I start my day with anyone but the Lord (and my doodle!). My early morning routine is critical for my mental health. I (usually) embrace my ADHD as a gift and work really hard to focus on the strengths it has given me.

What would you do with the $40,000?

Invest. I was my grandma’s caretaker for the last three years of her life, and I saw how expensive aging with dignity can be. I don’t want to be a burden to my kids, and since I’m a later in life mama, it’s a very real possibility that they will need to make decisions about my care before most of their peers have to do the same. I don’t want financial concerns to come into play for them at all.
