What I love about being over 40 is the liberation that comes with caring less about what other people think. I'm more focused on what and who is important, and prioritizing the people and activities that are meaningful to me. We spend so many years worrying about other people's opinions, so having the aha moment where you realize that is not longer serving you is incredibly freeing. I also love that I have life experience and perspective while also still having energy and zest for life!
How do you stay fabulous?I work out 5-6 days a week, doing things I love rather than punishing myself at the gym. I do pilates, play tennis (picked that up after turning 45), walk my dogs in the hills, and meet friends for walk & talks. I love to cook and experiment with recipes. I love to entertain: feeding people is love, the way I see it. I also volunteer and advocate for animal rescue which gives me a sense of purpose and service to others. I love to travel & explore new places, and revisit my favorite spots.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would use some of it to take my family on a trip (my parents are in their 80's so time together is precious), and I would use some to donate to my favorite charities. I would also take myself on a self-care weekend to one of the health-oriented retreats I have been bookmarking for many years.
