I stopped covering my gray hair and started appreciating my truth. I created a jewelry business at 46 to empower women to treat themselves.

What I love about being over 40 is that I have perspective. I know that most things are trivial, and they don't get to me like they did when I was younger. I used to say that you're not really an adult until you reach age 30. But now I see that it's age 40. You're more confident but humble, calmer but ignited by the right things, and stable yet still youthful. When you're fortunate enough to reach 40, you've ran out of f*cks.
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by staying current. I follow fashion. I stay up on social media. And I pay attention to what "the kids" are doing and saying. I'm also a life-long learner. I figure, if my brain stays vibrant then so will I. Don't get me wrong, I also get Botox. And I think it's fab to make others feel fab, seen, and appreciated. I do this with jewelry. I help my people style and appreciate jewelry, because they deserve to have the best. We all do!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would invest half in myself and half in my family. For myself, I'd like to develop my jewelry business (LifeofLezure.com) and create a line of black diamond jewelry (so far, I've just been reselling other people's goods). For my family, I'd take my 89-year-old grandmother to Ireland, where her family is from and where she's always wanted to go but never could because she worked her entire life--still does! I'd show her that she's deserving and worth it.
